Radio Rental: Radio Rental - mental, a reference to a person behaving unconventionally or madly,
or a situation which is strange or weird or bizarre - Radio Rental is a distortion of the UK company name
Radio Rentals, a provider of TV rental services in the second half of the 20th century.
In this instance Radio Rental is a Peterborough based rock-covers band.
The members of the band are: Rob Hackett, Mick Tyers, Dave Knight & Andy Hackett.
Every member of the band has been involved with the Peterborough music scene since the 1970's,
indeed the first known live performance of Rob, Mick & Andy was at The Key Theatre around 1975!
Since that time, they have followed different directions with their music, but have remained true to their
roots in the live music scene.
The most recent collaboration of these friends was The Karsie Chiefs, a covers band loved by many other local musicians,
this featured Mick, Dave & Andy.
After 40 years of friendship, it should be no surprise that these guys have an understanding of each other,
this shows when they play together, particularly with their absolute fun approach to performing live.
Each one of them brings their own definition of madness to the performance,
so it should be no surprise that they had to call themselves Radio Rental!
